About me

Mental health is the driving force behind my running. Exercise has been a necessary ingredient for coping with a learning disability that I have. As early as first grade I knew I was different from my classmates. Academics were frustrating, and it seemed as if my peers surpassed me with little to no effort.  I found it increasingly more difficult to keep my temper under control, and it became unbearable. The only way I could seem to gain control of myself was through sports. Sports, like running and wrestling, gave me a healthy outlet for the stress that I felt because of school. Exercise slowed my thoughts, and allowed me to focus myself towards manageable goals, and rebuild my self-confidence.
Although exercise, especially running, started as a means of coping with my learning disability and school stressors, it has morphed into so much more over the past decade.  Running has allowed me insightful discovery on my limits and pushing them farther on and off the trail.
